From 1978

A family story

The beautiful story of the Chalet les Saytels began in 1953 when Léontine and César Perillat-Monet bought the building to make it a family home and to welcome children who came to Grand-Bornand to discover winter sports. The house was also a meeting place for reblochon traders and a restaurant renowned for the good food prepared by Léontine. They developed the establishment with passion for about fifteen years before being joined by their daughter Christiane and undertaking a new adventure in the hotel business. After two years of work, the house was transformed into a hotel and the Chalet les Saytels opened its doors to welcome its first customers in 1978.

Over the years and with the development of the village of Grand-Bornand, which has become a renowned ski resort, the hotel has expanded its services to meet the needs of the growing number of tourists: discotheque, pizzeria, specialty restaurant, creation of a spa area and swimming pool, obtaining a fourth star, construction of the Alice and La Vigogne chalets, etc. In 2021, with Charles, the third generation joins the adventure and continues to bring the establishment to life with the sole concern of offering a high quality stay to its customers. With this in mind, work has been undertaken in recent years to modernize the Chalet les Saytels while preserving the authenticity and friendliness that are unique to it.
